Young Contract Creations Award 2009: Upholstery

Young Contract Creations Award 2009: Upholstery In 2009, Heimtextil, the International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles, will for the second time organize the Young Contract Creations Award Upholstery; powered by Polsterfashion and Trevira CS.

In cooperation with our partners Trevira GmbH and the publishing house Verlag M. Ritthammer GmbH, the event will revolve around seating furniture in functionality and design for the contract sector.

The contest for the upcoming event focuses on the growing market of system gastronomy: this term applies to gastronomic businesses that sell beverages and/or food which can be consumed on site. These businesses have a standardized and multiplied concept that is controlled via a central operation.

The applicants may select their seating furniture models for the system gastronomy sector from these three topics:

  • Coffee Bars
  • American Diners (from steak houses to burger and sandwich chain stores)
  • International Cooking (worldwide regional cuisine or crossover concepts).

The furniture submitted must take the following criteria into consideration:

  • the topic must deal with the gastronomy sector
  • innovative shapes
  • wear resistance
  • practicability in use (e.g., chairs that can be stacked)
  • low maintenance
  • low flammability of all materials
  • the item must be suitable for production standardization
  • sustainable use of all materials.

The time for application has passed. It is not possible to hand in models anymore.
